COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT SERVICES
The Community Development Department provides a variety of services and programs to the San Diego County Community at large at our services centers in Chula Vista, San Ysidro, Barrio Logan, and National City (starting in October 2008) as well as direct services to residents of our Affordable Housing Communities throughout the county. MAAC Project is currently working with the STEP model to provide the services to the community Striving Towards Economic Prosperity (STEP)
The STEP Program is a comprehensive social services delivery model by which services are deployed that encompass:

Employment opportunities

Small business development services

Family asset building services; As well as

“Safety net” services to participants within the San Diego County.

Filing free tax returns

Assistance with job placement

Financial education services
-
Outreach and referrals for assistance with low-or no cost health insurance; and

Emergency assistance including shelter services, and help with food and energy needs.
