DESCRIPTION:
Under the supervision of the Program Director and the Weatherization Program Manager, will supervise and coordinate the activities of Weatherization Specialist. Will perform weatherization duties on residences of eligible recipients and provide on-site direction to Weatherization Specialist. Will recruit, identify and determine eligibility of recipients: perform audits and evaluations and conduct final inspections.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
Perform:
· On-site monitoring of weatherization staff on regularly scheduled basis.
· Final inspections
· NEAT audits for DOE
1. Supervise, evaluate and participate in the hiring process of weatherization crew staff
2. Purchase weatherization materials and equipment (per department approval)
3. Maintain inventory control records
4. Meet regularly with the Program Director and Weatherization Program Manager to develop plans for project implementation and timely completion of tasks
5. Ensure accountability of tools, equipment, materials, office machines and vehicles
6. Define and prioritize weekly work assignments
7. Participate in regular staff reviews, evaluations and monthly safety meetings
Prepare:
· Job sites implementing weatherization lead safe work practices
· Attics for installing turbine vents and insulation
· Cleanup job sites using proper disposal methods
· Provides hands on training to Weatherization I & II workers at work sites
· Extensive carpentry
· Drywall installation and repair
Perform:
1. Entrance door modification
2. Glass/window work
3. Pipe wrap work
4. Apply glaze, caulk, and silicone
Install:
· Carbon monoxide alarms
· Water saving devices
· Switch/outlet gaskets
· Weather-stripping
· Doors
1. Troubleshoots, maintains, services and repairs to all equipment
2. Other related program duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Must:
- Be certified with Duct & Shell Sealing/Combustion Appliance Safety training
- Have lead safe work practices training
- Be able to identify construction materials from written and verbal instructions
- Prepare basic records and reports; read and interpret manuals, specifications
Ability to:
- Work well in a highly stressful environment
- Work cooperatively and harmoniously with staff
Physically able to:
- Lift minimum of 100 pounds
- Perform repetitive bending, stooping, and reaching
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Highly self-motivated, dependable, and able to work with minimal supervision
- Operation and maintenance of a wide variety of hand, power and shop tools
- Basic principles, methods, materials, tools and equipment used in the weatherization field
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma, GED, or life experience equivalency
Six (6) years related work experience
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Valid California Driver’s License, proof of comprehensive automobile insurance and acceptable Motor Vehicle Report at the time of hire.
- A drug test of the candidate(s) selected will be conducted.
- For felony DUI and drug conviction or a history of sexual assault or molestation is disqualifying.
- MAAC Project is a smoke-free, alcohol-free program.

Salary:
(Step 1)-$ 16.24 to (Step 4) $17.49 per hour, commensurate with experience. This position is eligible to receive paid benefits including medical, dental, vision, life, for employee and qualified dependents; also, the selected candidate will qualify for annual vacation and sick leave, 12 paid holidays and a rewarding and professional work environment.

Physical: Upon occasion may push/pull and lift/carry objects more than 20 pounds, but fewer than 50 pounds. Frequently perform simple manipulative skills such as standing, walking, etc. Frequently performs tasks, which require moderate to complex manipulation such as 10-key/computer/typewriter keyboarding. Frequently walk, stand, and sit for prolonged periods of time. Frequently needs to perform functions, which require ability to reach above shoulders, bend, and kneel or squat.
Sensory: Frequently read fine print. Frequently distinguish normal sounds with some background noise, as in answering telephones, hearing overhead page, etc. Must be able to speak clearly and make self understood while also understanding others using the English language.
Cognitive: Frequently concentrates on moderate to fine detail with constant interruption, and attends to task/function for more than 60 minutes at a time. Must understand and relate to specific ideas, generally several at a time, and relay such understanding to others. Must also remember multiple tasks/assignments given to self and others over a period of several weeks.
Environment: Frequent exposure to Electro-magnetic radiation, as in CRTs (VDTs) and other hazardous office chemical materials, i.e., correction fluids and CRT screen/typewriter cleaners.

SELECTION PROCEDURES:

As outlined in the Union Contract, Article 12
Part A: An appraisal will be made by an interview committee for the qualification of each candidate who best satisfies the preferred requirements for the position based upon information contained in the application and resume.
Part B: An interview committee will conduct interviews of candidates passed by the committee in Part A to evaluate education, experience and training.
Part C: Final selection will be made by the Director and President/CEO from the recommendations of the Part B interview committee.
If selected for an interview, a formal MAAC Project application and affirmative action form must be completed at the time of interview.
